   Almost a year ago, we talked and agreed to open our home and family up to a new cultural  experience, a student from another country, to live with us for a ten month period. We had no idea what to expect or how it would affect our family.....

   Well, its been a wonderful experience...Asuka got to visit a lot of places during her stay in America, she visited 16 different states, and we drove to every one of them. Sometimes we were in the car for 16 hours at a time.

We stopped at a real chocolate factory in Hershey, Pennsylvania  on the trip home and made our own candy bars!

For spring break, we hit the beach in Florida, I think this was her favorite trip. The waves were fun!

I think a lot of tears are going to be shed when Asuka heads back home next week. I'm happy we got to know her and I'm sure we'll keep in touch for a long time. I'm guessing she is excited to get back home and see all her family and friends, and taste some real Japanese food again. We wish her all the best in her future.
